Frequently Asked Questions
Inside Imaging uses AI to transform complex radiology reports into plain language summaries. We highlight key findings, provide definitions for medical terms, and present information in a way that patients and families can understand.
Go to the Dashboard, upload your radiology report (PDF or text), select your preferred language, and click "Upload & Convert". The AI will process your report and generate a simplified summary with visual highlights.
You can upload PDF files, Word documents (.docx), plain text files (.txt), and images (PNG, JPG, JPEG, TIF, TIFF, WEBP, BMP, HEIF). The system automatically extracts the text from your file for processing.
We can process reports from X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, ultrasounds, PET scans, and other radiology imaging studies. The report should contain text describing the findings.
We currently support English and Kiswahili output, with more languages coming soon. Reports must be written in English. Support for source reports in other languages is planned for future updates.
Important findings are color-coded: red highlights indicate areas that need attention, while green highlights show normal or reassuring findings. Hover over highlighted medical terms to see plain-language definitions.
Some reports may contain findings that could be distressing — such as mentions of serious illness or critical results. When our system detects this, it shows a brief warning screen before displaying your results, giving you the choice to proceed when you're ready. You can acknowledge and continue at any time.
Most reports are processed instantly. Complex or lengthy reports may take a few seconds. Results appear on screen immediately and can be downloaded as a PDF.
Our AI uses advanced language models trained on medical literature to ensure accuracy. However, it is not a substitute for professional medical advice — always use the translation as a guide and discuss any questions with your healthcare provider.
Yes. Personal identifiers are removed before AI processing, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and we follow HIPAA-aligned privacy practices. Full reports are not stored permanently beyond your session unless you save them to your account.
DICOM is the standard file format used by medical imaging equipment (CT scanners, MRI machines, etc.). The DICOM section lets you upload and view these image files directly in your browser, alongside your translated report. You can find it under the DICOM tab in the navigation.
Yes — you can sign in with your Google account for a faster login experience, or create a standard account with an email and password. Both methods give you full access to the platform.
Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your account. Once enabled, you'll need to enter a time-based code from an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Authy) each time you log in. To set it up, go to your Profile page and follow the 2FA setup instructions.
For your security, sessions automatically expire after a period of inactivity. This is especially important on shared or public devices. Simply log back in to continue where you left off.
Yes. Create a free account to save translated reports permanently to your Dashboard. Without an account, reports are only available for the duration of your current session.
Yes. Download a PDF copy of your translated report and share it with your healthcare team. The PDF includes the simplified explanation and key findings.
Yes. You can delete individual reports from your Dashboard. To fully remove your account and all associated data, contact our support team and we will action it promptly.
After viewing a translated report, you'll see an option to leave feedback on the result. We read all feedback and use it to improve the platform. You can also use the Contact Support form on this page for anything more specific.
We are currently in a pilot phase with select healthcare partners. If you represent a clinic, hospital, or health system interested in institutional access, please reach out via the Contact Support form below and we will get back to you.
Check that your file is in a supported format and contains readable text (scanned images without OCR text may not process correctly). If the problem persists, try a different file format, check your internet connection, or contact support.
The website is fully mobile-responsive and works well on smartphones and tablets. A dedicated native app is being considered based on user demand.
